First Days Home

So far our first days home have been great.  Gamommy spent the first night with us and it was nice to have an extra set of hands with Libby Kate and Mer both.  Goodness, Libby Kate sleeps like a CHAMP!  This girl will take three hour naps, and sleep through Mer's craziness like it's nobody's business.  Hope she keeps it up!  She may just still be in the newborn coma, but even so Mer never slept like this even in the beginning, so I'm taking advantage and getting sleep when I can....even if it does mean crawling in bed at 7:30 - ha!

One thing I never managed to do with Meredith was getting the sweet, sleepy newborn pictures.  I laid Libby Kate down to do something one day and realized she was old cold and looked adorable...so I grabbed my camera and took a few sweet pictures.  The last one is simply proof that she is able to get upset :)

She loves laying on her changing table and looking around.  I'm not sure how much she can actually focus  on and see right now, but she is content to look around, especially at the pictures hanging over her changing table.

Meredith is obsessed with her!  I can hardly keep her away from Libby Kate while she's sleeping because she wants to wake her up SO bad!!

Such a GREAT big sister!

Libby Kate has another big sister I must mention...Bailey.  Or maybe I should say another momma?  Bailey was so sure Meredith was HER baby when we brought her home, and I am convinced she thinks the same of Libby Kate.  Libby Kate was sitting in the bouncer near the couch the first day we came home, and Bailey came over to check her out and laid down next to the bouncer.  Bear came into the living room - couldn't care less about the new baby - and Bailey let out a deep, low growl.  Kind of freaked me out, so Mom made her get back and lay down further away. While she was laying there, Bear came towards the living room to find a place to lay down and Bailey came unglued - growled, jumped and snapped at him!  She did NOT want him between her and "her baby."  If Libby cries and I am not in the room, Bailey will come find me and nervously run back and forth between me and Libby whining.  She has been glued to my side and whines and wimpers if Libby cries while I have her.  Such a sweet dog, with so much instinct!!
