Good Times, Good Times

We've been having GOOD times at our house.  Libby Kate has joined Mer in the dress up fun!  She loves to be dressed up, and loves to bring us things to put on her.  They entertain each other so well.  She adores having Mer put princess dresses on her, and is ever so patient as Mer clips bows into her hair.

A true Cinderella....missing one slipper!

Love how Mer strikes a pose anytime a camera comes out - ha!

This series of pics is so sweet to me - Libby Kate is SO patient and still for Mer while she dresses her.

This makes me laugh - Mer was getting on to Libby through gritted teeth - "Libby Kate!  Just stand still!  I want Mommy to get a picture of our matching bows!"

A rare picture with my baby...I'm looking a little rough at the end of the day and without make up, but she's so pretty, who's looking at me anyway?!

Mer went to dinner with my parents and John and "Rhiona" (Winona) last night at Spring Creek.  As I was putting her to bed, I was asking what she had for dinner, if she had a good time, etc.  She said yes, it was "good times, good times."  I died laughing, the way she said it was like an old person, but she wasn't trying to be funny!  She also told me she had a SECRET for me, but she couldn't tell me until she was in bed.  I asked her if Gamommy knew her secret and she said, "maybe she does, maybe she doesn't!"  Then I asked her if she was going to tell me her secret and she said, "maybe I will, maybe I won't!"  She has a funny way of saying things when she's acting silly, and it really is just so funny...and she knows it!  I had forgotten about her secret by the time I got her into bed, but she didn't.  "Mommy!  I have to tell you my secret now!"  She grabbed my face, and pulled me close, and whispered..."I had LEMONADE at dinner!  Hahaha!"  She thought she had really gotten away with something because Gamommy let her have (watered down) lemonade with her supper!  Ha!

I also think it's funny what she insisted on wearing to dinner with them.  She is obsessed with "chee-leaders" right now.  So much so, that she has finally decided she likes to wear tennis shoes...because that's what "chee-leaders" wear.  So last night, she wore her chee-leading outfit and her new hot pink (or steaming hot pink as she says) shoes!  We bought these back in May but they were too big, and she was adamant she wouldn't wear them...I'm kind of excited that she's finally decided to wear them, just as they actually fit her, too!

Sunday Sweeties

It's crazy to me that summer is almost over!  This morning after church I tried to get a picture of the girls together.  I love red sandals.  I love matching sisters.  I love pictures.  But today, there was no getting that great picture of sweet sisters!!  Libby does NOT cooperate with the camera.  She avoids eye contact at all costs, refuses to look at me or even face me, and makes every face except a smile.  Mer was not in a great mood, and said it was "too bright" and she couldn't see.

Mer appeased me with this one...and then was gone!

I spent the next 20 minutes trying to get Libby Kate to look at me!

And when she DID look at me, this was the face she made!  Ha!

So sweet!!

She's really just too BUSY for taking a silly picture!

Fancy Nancy

Check out Fancy Nancy!!  We thought Mer was the girliest of girls, but Libby Kate has caught on fast! I refused to put high heels on her, because she's 14 months old and would surely fall, and she was MAD at me.  She cried, and she put the shoes in my lap, and she sat down and pointed to her feet and whined, and pointed to the shoes, and pointed to her feet, and cried, and so on and so on...for twenty minutes!  I held strong and said no, and tried to distract her, but she was determined and managed to figure it out for herself!  So, what else could I really do, besides tell her how beautiful and fancy she looked??

She is too funny, and you will never see her without her purse and bracelets and necklaces...and apparently today, her car keys and purse as well!  She has also started bringing me "dress up" clothes to put on her!  Last night she was so upset with me because she wanted to wear the sequined "prom" dress of Mers, so I finally gave in and put it on, and tied it up in the back so she wouldn't trip.  She was SO proud in that dress...twirling and fluffing the dress and just grinning ear to ear as she ran through the house to show Mer Mer!

Pantry Raid!

Somebody had a grand time destroying the pantry while I made dinner tonight!  She had Bailey really nervous, too.  Poor Bailey just knew Libby Kate shouldn't be making that mess, and was pacing and whining like crazy!

Anytime you try to take a picture of her with a point and shoot camera or iPhone, she immediately makes the scrunched up face cheese face!  She started this around 6 months old...does that mean I take too many pictures??

What a fun time making a mess!  Some days it's just easier to clean up the mess after the fact, than chase her all over the place while trying to make dinner.  Much easier if the mess at least keeps her in one place and where I can see her for a while!
